The Respect Project Workshops begin in August
The Respect Project directed by the Tony Award winning artist George Faison, takes its youth participants through a series of intensive workshops that explore problems facing urban adolescents including self esteem and peer pressure. As a Respect Project member, students will learn to create poems, spoken word, dances and songs to compose a unique and powerfully relevant educational performance piece that is toured all around the country. callin teens 13-21 years old

Description: New Perspectives Theatre Company is seeking members for its apprentice company. Apprentices receive weekly Saturday morning classes in the fall and spring for regular exercise of their craft, new skills development, and the opportunity to experience an ensemble environment. There are opportunities for work with guest artists in specialized areas of performance and audition techniques (i.e., autobiographical writing, commedia, staged combat, and casting sessions). Apprentices will be eligible to audition for NPT Youth & Community productions, will perform in a spring showcase for industry professionals, and will participate in summer intensives for further scene study and performance experience. Melody Brooks, artistic dir.; Colleen Jasinski, program coord. Program runs Sept. 13-Dec. 6 & Jan. 24-April 18 in NYC.
Seeking—Apprentices: 18-49, male and female, all ethnicities.

Presented by the Theater for the New City, the play will be written and directed by Vit Horejs, artistic director of the Czechoslovak-American Theatre. November 28-Dec 14. Description: Chris Ruggere is holding auditions for singers/actors/dancers for experimental new musical SPECTRUM. Seeking non-union, volunteer actors to bring this political, science-fiction musical to performance. The music is electronica-based (techno, trance, drum & bass, etc.).
Auditions will be from 2-6 PM on Sunday, July 27 at the Downtown PAC, located at 6 Mt. Hope Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530. Please prepare a short monologue and a short song (accompaniment will not be provided). Be prepared to move, and possibly do a cold reading.
