Hollywood crew members discuss the dying local film industry and why they’re moving to the Peckham district of London for a new beginning. There is a script, but actors should be ready to improvise to make the characters their own. |

| Breakdown Description: JIM – African American / Asian / Caucasian. Early 40s. A film editor down on his luck who’s recovering from a recent heartbreak. He often reminisces about the “good old days” when he used to have a surplus of job offers. DWAYNE – Caucasian. Early 30s. A man’s man who works as a grip on film sets. He could have been a lumberjack if the film industry hadn’t captured his heart. He speaks with a slight Southern accent. NATHALIA – Caucasian. Late 30s. A Russian make-up artist. She went through a whirlwind of trouble to get to this country and is now disappointed at the lack of opportunities that come her way. She’s tired of working on terrible projects such as the “rom com horror remake sequel” she’s currently on. She speaks with an accent. STU – Caucasian / Hispanic. Early to late 20s. A struggling actor. He’s a lean, starry-eyed optimist who hasn’t yet been disillusioned by Hollywood. GEOFF – Caucasian. Mid 20s. A British first assistant cameraman who has a deep appreciation of the finer things in life, such as opera and British ale. His skills are so highly regarded he jokes he could pull focus on any camera blindfolded. MARISSA – Caucasian. Mid 20s. A fashionista who makes her living as a costume designer. She’s meticulous in her work. If she hadn’t chosen to be a costume designer she would’ve made an excellent surgeon. MAN/WOMAN ON THE STREET – Any ethnicity or age. Real people for quick documentary one liners. |
