| Description: SkyPilot Company auditions info fall 2010 SkyPilot Theatre Company of Los Angeles is holding company auditions Saturday September 11 from 10am to 7pm and Sunday September 12 from 2 to 7pm as we prepare to move into our new home The Luna Playhouse of Glendale/Atwater Village, 3706 San Fernando Rd., (Atwater adjacent) Glendale, CA 91204. A beautiful 2000 sq. ft flexible space with nearly 60 seats and amazing equipment. The SkyPilot Theatre Company is looking for actors of all ages and ethnic backgrounds to add to our current ensemble as we continue our endeavor to create a dynamic troupe of dedicated, professional artists with the intent of exercising, developing, and honing their acting and performance skills in an environment of commitment, mutual respect, warmth and support that truly defines the word ensemble. SkyPilot is a dues paying company. Dues are $50 per month beginning this November 2010. We are moving into the Luna Playhouse October 2010 and will be focused on some slight construction/re-decorating and events including our weekend long "SkyPilot’s Launch Party" October 22 and 23. Our season begins November 12 with the West Coast premiere of "Yes Svetlana, there is a Grandfather Frost" by Jeff Goode and directed by Gideon Potter. Member’s benefits • Weekly Thursday night "Members Workout" class taught by SkyPilot resident teacher/director Gideon Potter. This will be for members only and will allow us to work on scenes, monologues, improv, whatever we want. Will also have us working with SkyPilot resident playwrights as we workshop their original material along with bringing us together once a week to build the chemistry of what will be L.A.’s greatest actors ensemble. • Casting from within house. SkyPilot has a full season of 4 main stage shows and 4 late night series planned beginning November 2010 thru 2011. Casting will be from members only unless we don’t have a certain "type" within our ensemble. • Working with resident playwrights. SkyPilot will have a group of playwrights in residence lead by our head resident playwright Jeff Goode (www.JeffGoode.com) who will be constantly workshopping their material and will need actors to participate. This will be done in the Thursday night workout and also at other times throughout the week. Another chance to work on your craft! • Opportunity to produce productions. SkyPilot will have a variety of time slots available for smaller productions that members can organize and produce. They will be given a protocol that deals with presentation and assistance from our administrative staff. We will also be looking for members to produce our late night and main stage productions as well. • Use of space. There will be weekly space allotments for members to use for whatever their working on. • A chance to join an amazing theatre company as we move into our new home! SkyPilot members who have been with the company feel like kids in a candy store as we move into the Luna Playhouse. After producing theatre for 4 ½ years without our own home we feel we are ready and excited for the challenge and the opportunity that lies ahead. We are looking for members who share this enthusiasm as we build the foundation to what will be one of LA’s best theatre companies for years to come. If you are interested in auditioning please look for our postings on www.LAcasting.com or www.NowCasting.com or email SkyPilot Artistic Director Bob Rusch at bobrusch716@aol.com with your head shot and resume. We will be filling the Saturday time slots first so please let him know if there’s a time you cannot audition and he will email you back with your appointment info. For your audition please bring 4 hard copies of your head shot and resumes. Each actor will have 7 minutes to perform 2 contrasting monologues or scenes (no more then 2 characters) of their choice that best shows off their ability. If you are performing a scene readers will be provided. Please bring a copy of the scene with their characters lines highlighted for them to read. If you cannot make it or will be late please or if you have any questions please call 323-229-2753. Thanks and HAVE FUN!!! |
