Description:
Increase Unlimited Productions is casting Dysfunction…The Play, Vivian is a single, divorced mom of three that has had her share of problems. Vivian is a Marketing Director for a large firm and when they move their operations to Phoenix, Vivian has a choice to make, move to Phoenix or lose her job. With nothing left to lose, Vivian dives head first into love with a co-worker and a new beginning. Will it all last? Only God knows but Vivian is ready to step out on a little faith. Miranda J. Carr is the main writer, producer and title character; Jillina Baxter – Marketing Manager; Jason Cross – Technical Director & Set Designer; Tony Tambasco – Sound Engineer; Carliss J. Carr, Rashad Owens – Musicians. Auditions will be held every staurday beginning in April 2010 from 10am – 6pm. The location will be announced at a later date. Rehearsal schedule will be given to each hired actor on May 5, 2010. The performance dates are Friday-Sunday, July 23-25, 2010 in Latham, NY at Siena College.

Also seeking crew:
Costume Designer – to create the look of each character by designing clothes and accessories the actors will wear in performance. Depending on their style and complexity, costumes may be made, bought, revamped out of existing stock or rented. Their designs need to faithfully reflect the personalities of the characters in the script. Stage costumes can provide audiences with information about a character’s occupation, social status, gender, age, sense of style and tendencies towards conformity or individualism.

Stage Manager – provide practical and organizational support to the director, actors, designers, stage crew and technicians throughout the production process. The director and the stage manager will work side by side, with the stage manager recording the director’s decisions about blocking and notes for the actors, keeping track of logistical and scheduling details and communicating what goes on in rehearsals to the rest of the team. The Stage manager will have several key responsibilities and tasks to perform in each phase of this production, including:
• scheduling and running rehearsals
• communicating the director’s wishes to designers and crafts people
• coordinating the work of the stage crew
• calling cues and possibly actors’ entrances during performance
• overseeing the entire show each time it is performed
In conjunction with the director, the stage manager determines the scheduling of all rehearsals and makes sure everyone involved is notified of rehearsal times, meetings, costume/wig fittings and coaching sessions. During the rehearsal phase, stage managers also
• mark out the dimensions of the set on the floor of the rehearsal hall
• make sure rehearsal props and furnishings are available for the actors
• attend all rehearsals
• notify the designers and crafts people of changes made in rehearsal

Marketing/Publicity Assistant – This work involves assisting in promoting the productions, services and public image of the production and also do market research on customers, analyzing their needs, and then making strategic decisions about which productions to offer (individually or as a season), ticket pricing, and promotion. The Marketing Assistant will also assist with publications, public relations, publicity, and advertising.

Musicians – We need musicians that can play bass guitar, drums, keyboards and background singers to help with our songs in the production.

Production Manager/Producer – Production Manager generally is responsible for budgeting, scheduling work, and coordinating the various production departments. The Production Manager is ultimately responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the production are completed within budget, according to the designer’s and director’s wishes, and in time for the first public performance. The Production Manager oversees the cost effectiveness and planning of the entire production process. Responsibilities may include any or all of the following:
• Securing the rights to present the play from the royalty house or publisher-agent.
• Budgeting
• Deciding date, time and venue
• Forming a production team
• Production meetings
• Scheduling rehearsals and performances
• Setting the rehearsal venue
• First call
• Rehearsal process and preparation
• Financial accounting of the show’s expenses and revenues

Transportation Manager – responsible for our travel arrangements to and from rehearsals and the production.

We are casting 7 African-American Women, 2 women of any race ; 8 African-American men, 2 men of any race
Anyone planning to audition should review all information on the website and come prepared to sing and perform a brief script reading. If you have a headshot, bio and/or resume, video or audio recording, please bring these items to the audition. You must arrive 15 – 30 minutes BEFORE your audition time to familiarize yourself with the script. You must state what role(s) you are auditioning for so we can give you the correct script monologue. All roles must be able to sing fairly well.

Tennessee Williams And His Muse, Chekhov New York City 2010-02-10

Celebrating our Fourth Session of actor training workshops based on the legendary Moscow Art exercises and improvisations, this session is taught by members of the professional Studio Six Company, currently in residence at The Baryshnikov Center here in NYC. Individual, group exercises, games and improvisation etudes will begin each class, with a focus on texts from Chekhov and Tennessee Williams for a final, open presentation.

Fee: $500 for six weeks’ classes and private coaching.

Description:
Performance Date: Sunday, February 28 at 3PM and 7PM at Center Stage NY (Manhattan, 21st between fifth and sixth). Printer will be presented as part of the Minutes Before one-act festival.

Rehearsal Schedule: Three times a week for 2-3 weeks.

Play Description: Minutes before the the clock strikes midnight on New Years Eve 1999, a struggling writer makes a desperate attempt to save his life’s work before the Y2K bug wipes it out. His task becomes more difficult as friends from the party upstairs distract him with their own turn-of-the-century drama.

Breakdown Description:
Jake/Principal: male, 20s. He’s a likable jackass, always working to keep those he loves happy. A real life-of-the-party type, great at pressuring those around him to have a good time. Uses his charm to help make him a great small-town journalist. Must be comfortable wearing boxers onstage.

Tanner/Principal: male, 20s. Exudes surface calm with a category five hurricane underneath. He has a dry, sarcastic wit, but gets away with it because he’s innately likable. Recently fired. Tanner seems slightly older of the two friends.
