The Screens Project New York City 2009-07-01
Theatre non-union Payment: No Pay
Description:
For a summer workshop/training of Jean Genet’s The Screens directed by Kathryn Hamilton in an outdoor amphitheatre in upstate New York at an artist colony. We will live and work as a community and collaborate on Genet’s rarely performed masterpiece. Time frame for project runs during the months of July and August. Actor training in NYC and camping for 2 weeks in upstate NY. There will be 1 performance on August 15th at the end of the 2 weeks for a benefit for the art colony.

Auditions will be non-traditional. People will be grouped together, to see how well they work with each other. There will be acting exercises and improv group activities. There is no pay, but two weeks food and living on a beautiful farm and 120 acres of land.

Auditions will be held in the Upper West side of Manhattan on July 5th. Time slots are 3-5pm and 5-7pm. Questions or to audition, send headshot and resume to Screens2009@gmail.com.

The Actor’s Project NYC (TAPNYC), a company that assists its members in landing agents and getting work through industry showcases and plays, is casting Season 15 (three industry shows and one original play), featuring new actors as well as actors with experience in theatre, commercials, film, television, and stand-up comedy. Industry shows consist of all original work created by company writers and include scenes, monologues, sketch-comedy, and music. Current writers consist of new talent as well as published writers and composers from NYC, AZ and LA. Past productions have been attended by producers (Broadway, Off-Broadway & off-off-Broadway), agents (commercial and legit), talent managers, and casting directors. Bobby Holder, prod.-dir. Performs Oct. 2009 in NYC.
